Is it possible to heal from loss and trauma? Can you transform pain and suffering? This presentation explores how we can weave, out of our deepest sorrows, a life of joy and renewed purpose. Katie Curtin is a life coach, artist and writer. After the killing of her life partner in 1995, she began her own journey through trauma and grief. Her recent play "The Sorrowkeeper" navigates the mythological terrain of a woman'- voyage from sorrow to joy.

THE SACRED SYMBOLISM OF SEX - with Lorena Loo
Sex. Said to be a primal urge, it has a neurological foundation in our brains. But its enshrinement as a sacred symbol throughout time from the Cro-Magnons to the Druids to Tantric Yoga suggests it is more than the preservation and propagation of our species. So what is really behind sexual symbolism in spirituality? It has always been misunderstood as sexual intercourse. But in this talk we shall see it is really about the deepest levels of consciousness which underlie all of reality. Lorena is the author of the book The Sacred Circle of Geometry and Symbols.

SOUNDWORK AS SOULWORK
A primary purpose of soundwork is to open up a dialogue with our inner life. Through intentional sounding, we can access and express a range of feelings, issues and memories. Sound, because of its vibrational nature, can also release emotional physical blocks and balance the bodyıs energy field. During this participatory presentation you will experience a variety of healing instruments such as the Tibetan singing bowls, tingshas, shruti boxes, crystal bowls and more. The healing power of the drum and chanting will also be explored. Ann-Marie Boudreau will be presenting along with graduates from the "Soundwork as Soulwork" program at the Transformational Arts College.
